Ant and the Honey
By:
There once lived a little ant that was no one very special.
It was just one of those worker types that would go out from the Nest with the
rest and join in the stream of ants, the Way. Like every worker it would find
some choice little bits of food and then struggle with its load to carry back
to the Queen.
Everyday from dawn to dusk the same.
Then one day the ant noticed something strange. It seemed as
though while many were leaving in search of food as usual, fewer appeared to be
returning as the day progressed. It shrugged this observation away immediately
and went out into the Way with its fellow workers.
As it scurried along with its antennae waving about, out of
the corner of its eyes it saw a huge tunnel appear from out of the sky, touch
the ground to its left where several other ants had been scurrying.
Then it disappeared, along with the other ants.
In a panic it stopped several of its mates and said:
‘Stop! There is something wrong here.’
Just as the others were about to ask what exactly it
referred to, several ants came marching up with golden droplets in their
pincers.
’Wrong!?’ said the leader of this group. ‘Only a fool would
say there is something wrong here. Look at all this honey we have. We have hit
the Mother Lode! The Queen will be so pleased.’
‘But I saw something come out of the sky and the next moment
a bunch of us were gone,’ said the ant.
However, no one stayed to listen; off went its companions to
get some of that honey, while the others raced back with their sweet prize.
‘Well, maybe I was just imagining it,’ the ant reasoned to
itself.
And off it raced to reach the honey.
Yet no sooner had it began, again it saw the tunnel from the
sky come down and its shadow fall over another group of ants. And then the
tunnel and the ants were gone.
With great panic the ant tried to stop the others racing
ahead. Yet now the Way flowed with excited ants that could think of nothing
else but that honey. The ant desperately tried to slow the other workers in order
to explain to them what it saw. None slowed. They crashed into the ant or just
ran over it, ignoring its urgent pleas.
Finally, one of the soldier ants came up, twice as large as
the little worker ant, with its huge mandibles.
The soldier will listen, the worker ant said to itself.
‘What are you doing blocking the way?’ said the soldier ant
to the worker. ‘Out of the way, you fool, there is honey ahead.’
‘Wait! You don’t understand. Something terrible is
happening. Honey is not ahead. It’s death! Death, I tell you! We must all go
back!’
‘You are a mad ant. And madness has no place in the Nest. If
you do not cease such nonsense and get back to work, it will indeed be death
for you!’
The little worker continued along the Way, out of respect
for those mandibles; yet it no longer looked straight ahead.
Constantly it gazed skyward. Searching.
Until the ant saw it come again.
However this time it saw not only the tunnel, but to where
the tunnel lead. And indeed it lead to death; for the ant knew now what it was.
‘Go back! Go back! An anteater! Death is here! Go back!’ it
yelled while moving out of the Way.
But the Way was racing as news had reached the Nest. There
was only one thought of the Nest--the honey!
And the little worker watched them all disappear up the dark
tunnel.

Pencarian.
Sampai semut melihatnya datang lagi.
Hanya
ada satu pikiran dari Sarang - madu!
Dan pekerja sedikit memperhatikan mereka semua menghilang
sampai terowongan gelap.
The Mousedeer Stole the Cucumbers
Long ago in Java island, lived a famous animal, the
mousedeer. The mousedeer was famous of his cleverness, that he could always
escape from troubles with his bright minds. The mousedeer’s favourite food was
the cucumber. He loved to eat juicy cucumbers a lot, but the bad thing was he
did not want to grow it himself, he liked to steal them from the farmers.
The farmers disliked the mousedeer very much, since every
time he wanted to harvest his cucumbers, the mousedeer had eaten them that the
farmer could not get as many as he wanted. So that morning, before the farmer
set out to his farm, he made a plan to catch the mousedeer with his wife.
That night, the farmer and his wife made a scarecrow. When
they had completed the scarecrow, the farmer put a lot of glue on the
scarecrow’s shirt and took it to the middle of the farm and put him there. This
time, the farmer was sure, he was able to catch the naughty mousedeer.
Very early in the next morning, the mousedeer had already
arrived in the farm. He was very surprised to see the farmer was already there.
He did not know that it was only a scarecrow. So he was hiding behind the
trees, and waited for the farmer to go away first from the farm before he came
and took all the cucumbers he wanted. He waited for a long time, until he grew
impatient. It was like the juicy cucumbers in th farm were calling his name to
take them away with him. So he decided to come closer to the farm.
The more he looked at the ‘farmer’, the more he realized
that it was not the farmer who stood there all along. It was just a scarecrow
and did not move at all. The mousedeer was very angry for he was cheated. He
approached the scarecrow and kicked the scarecrow. Remember, the farmer had
already added some glue on the scarecrow’s body that made it very sticky.
When the mousedeer kicked the scarecrow, he could not let
his feet of the scarecrow’s body. The mousedeer was panic. The harder he
kicked, the stickier it got to his legs. Finally, the mousedeer was strapped to
the scarecrow’s body. He couldn’t free himself. He cried and cried for help,
but no one was there to help. When the farmer heard his cry, he quickly went to
his farm and caught the mousedeer. No matter how the mousedeer begged for mercy
and to let him go, the farmer refused to set him free.
So, that was how the farmer caught the mousedeer who was
famous for his brain.

The Legend of Surabaya
A long time ago in East Java there were two strong animals,
Sura and Baya. Sura was a shark and Baya was a crocodile. They lived in a sea.
Actually, they were friends. But when they were hungry, they were very greedy.
They did not want to share their food. They would fight for it and never stop
fighting until one of them gave up.
It was a very hot day. Sura and Baya were looking for some
food. Suddenly, Baya saw a goat.
“Yummy, this is my lunch,” said Baya.
“No way! This is my lunch. You are greedy! I had not eaten
for two days!” said Sura.
Then Sura and Baya fought again. After several hours, they
were very tired. Sura had a plan to stop their bad behavior.
“I’m tired of fighting, Baya,” said Sura.
“Me too. What should we do to stop fighting? Do you have any
idea?” asked Baya.
“Yes, I do. Let’s share our territory. I live in the water,
so I look for food in the sea. And you live on the land, right? So, you look
for the food also on the land. The border is the beach, so we will never meet
again. Do you agree?” asked Sura.
“Hmm... let me think about it. OK, I agree. From today, I
will never go to the sea again. My place is on the land,” said Baya.
Then they both lived in the different places. But one day,
Sura went to the land and looked for some food in the river. He was very hungry
and there was not much food in the sea. Baya was very angry when he knew that
Sura broke the promise.
“Hey, what are you doing here? This is my place. Your place
is in the sea!”
“But, there is water in the river, right? So, this is also
my place!” said Sura.
Then Sura and Baya fought again. They both hit each other.
Sura bit Baya's tail. Baya did the same thing to Sura. He bit very hard until
Sura finally gave up. He went back to the sea. Baya was very happy. He had his
place again.
The place where they were fighting was a mess. Blood was
everywhere. People then always talked about the fight between Sura and Baya.
They then named the place of the fight as Surabaya, it’s from Sura the shark
and Baya the crocodile. People also put their fight as the symbol of Surabaya
city.

Anda serakah!
Saya belum makan selama dua hari! "Ujar Sura.
Kemudian Sura dan Baya berjuang lagi. Setelah beberapa jam,
mereka sangat lelah. Sura punya rencana untuk menghentikan perilaku buruk
mereka.
"Saya lelah berjuang, Baya," kata Sura.
"Aku juga. Apa yang harus kita lakukan untuk
menghentikan pertempuran? Apakah Anda tahu "tanya Baya.
"Ya, saya lakukan. Mari kita berbagi wilayah kita. Saya
tinggal di air, jadi saya mencari makanan di laut. Dan Anda hidup di darat,
bukan? Jadi, Anda mencari makanan juga di darat. Perbatasan adalah pantai, jadi
kami tidak akan pernah bertemu lagi. Apakah Anda setuju? "Tanya Sura.
"Hmm ... biarkan aku memikirkannya. OK, saya setuju.

There is a crow who thirst, he was circling low spot for
water to drink. After searching for quite a long time, not a drop of water had
managed to find.
By the time he almost gave up, all of a sudden he saw not
far away there was a bottle which contains water. Crows are very happy, he then
flew to the bottle and stopped right on the bottle. But the water in the bottle
was too little, too small mouth bottle and the bottle neck is very long, if it
is seen more bottle-like shape jug.
However crow tried, beak still can not reach the water.
"How is it, what should I do?" Raven asked herself as she walked
around in circles around the bottle, he finally managed to find a way.
"If I hit the bottle rolled up, I can not drink the
water?" Crows were satisfied with himself, deep down she thinks "as
long as the bottle was broken, I'll be able to drink the water"
Then with feeling confident crow hit the bottle, but bottled
water is too heavy ..
although it has been exerting all his strength, bottle it
does not move at all. Although it has been tried many times, the poor crow was
still not managed to roll the water bottle. Besides thirsty crow too angry. In
the anger crow carrying a rock with his beak, and in disgust he released the
rock hard in the direction of the bottle. Unexpected rock falls right in the
mouth of the bottle and into the bottle.
Crow flew down, he saw the bottle was not cracked at all, he
was very disappointed. However, beyond expectations, crows and carefully
observed that when the stone sinks to the bottom, standing water in the bottle
is higher than ever before. "I've found a way. This time it'll work and I
can drink a" crow's very excited, while berkoak-koak he began to move. He
took a lot of stones and put them one by one into the bottle. Each time the
crow put stones, the water in the bottle will rise slightly upward, slowly the
water in the bottle reaches the mouth of the bottle.
Crow and put its beak into the bottle and drink as much. He
felt that if the water is obtained by pains when drunk was very sweet and
fresh. Crow was so excited, he stood on the edge of the mouth of the bottle
while singing merrily.
The moral: Through this story, we are reminded not easy to
despair despite repeatedly failed because of everything that is obtained from
the business itself is far more fun than giving people the results. So the
brothers, always try and never give yaa ^ _ ^ v
